Islamic curtain
A curtain that once veiled the Kaaba in Mecca, the holiest place in Islam, may fetch $700,000 when it's auctioned Wednesday in London, said Sotheby's Holdings Inc. Embroidered with gold and silver threads, the door curtain dates from 1909 and is being sold by a family that received it then from the sultan, Sotheby's said.
