Many people still believe that Islam is reflected in the Arab tribalistic behavior. We need to remind ourselves and others that not all Arabs are Muslims and that the Majority of Muslims are Not Arabs. I still have much love for my Arab brothers and sisters though.

Islamic Schools

It feels my heart with joy to hear of new Islamic Schools being opened. However, it is very important that the schools emphasize the academic curriculum as much as the Islamic studies. Otherwise, the students will be at a disadvantage when they compete for jobs and scholarships.

Isolated

Everybody Loves Obama

Contrary to popular belief, Barack Obama is not a Muslim. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. He is who who is and that's fine. The problem is that I feel that any people especially Muslims are pinning their hopes and desires on someone who is not only not Muslim,b but goes out of his way to disassociate with Muslims. Give him time, then we will learn who he is as a person. he can be a descent person and not be Muslim. Give him time.

There is None Like the Qu'ran

Every few years a story like this pops up trying to shake or distort the foundations upon which Islam rests. These attempts (are in my humble opinion) an attempt to create an inconsistency in Islam, like those exist in other religions. The problem with this is twofold. Allah says in the Qu'ran itself that this is what people would try to do. 2-When you have people who lack the con textural nature of the written from the benefit of practicing Islam and obtain knowledge at least to that of one of the four Imams who headed the schools of thought, then they enter deficient of the requisite skills necessary to speak with any measure of insight beyond the superficial. Incidentally, that is who they will sway. Those with a superficial understanding of Islam and their ilk.

New Rules To The Game

Not to perpetuate the innate paranoia that many Muslims already have, but here is part of the new policy that the FBI is reportedly applying to investigate Muslims that they consider suspect.





"The revised guidelines going into effect Monday will allow agents to use undercover sources to gather information, interview people without identifying themselves and spy on suspects without evidence of wrongdoing. "








Not that I have anything to hide, but this makes you want to go the masjid and stick to the three S' (Salaams, Salaat, and See you later). No conversations. You don't know what type of deal someone may be trying to work themselves through with the feds, and they could fabricate some thing on you for their benefit. If sounds paranoid, refer to the afore mentioned innate paranoia and to the fact that many "fellow Muslims" appear to have been doing this in Afghanistan and Iraq. So in the words of the Wu-Tang Clan, protect your neck!

Where Did They Pull This From?

Apparently, there is documentary that gives that impression that American Muslims are accepted in American society. I think that this is a severe misconception. We are hunted in the streets, but we are not truly accepted. Born or nationalized, Muslim Americans are often unfairly treated as unwelcome house guests that are relatives that you don't particularly care for.

A Smile and A Salaam

There seems to be some debate about how to greet a non-Muslim. I thought that this settles centuries ago. I have read various hadeeth concerning this topic, but because I can't quote them verbatim, I won't quote them. One thing that I defintely wouldn't recommend is to take advise from the guy in the article, whom I believe to be a non-Muslim.

If Muslimeenas learned their rights given by Allah through the shariah, this would not be an issue. Fathers, teach your daughters their rights. I would also suggest working on your left hook. Last but not least, learn how to cook a boiling pot of grits. If he wants to act the fool, dump that pot of grits on him, and ask Allah for forgiveness. If you do that enough, he will learn to keep his hands to himself or gain a serious fear of grits!

Longtime Coming

I was not surprised to read this. I think that this is a long time coming. The last time that I checked thievery was not a laudable quality for Muslims. What is needed is one GOOD stomping out to end this Pirates of the Caribbean nonsense. ONE GOOD STOMPING!

Pain and Prejudice

Reading this story will probably anger you initially, but upon further contemplation the it becomes easier to understand his point of view. I felt this is largely a mechanism to deal with the death of his son who was on the USS Cole when it was attacked. The attackers were Muslim, so he equates attacking Islam/Muslims with avenging his son. This should be a lesson to all of us that our actions as Muslims not only reflect on ourselves and our familiies, but also the larger Muslim community. Also, we are suppose to try to avoid doing things which will cause them to speak recklessly about Allah (SWT), the Prophet (pbuh), and Islam.

Talking It Out

Sometimes talking it out can resolve a lot of tension. What we as an Ummah need to learn is the difference between talking, shouting, dialogue, debating, and arguing. We don't have to argue, but this shows that we don't have to be disagreeable either.

The FBI have Arizona Muslims on lock! Whether they know it or not. Read this and be enlightened. It is a shame that you can't partake in activities that other Americans do for fear of being placed on a terrorist watch list and having your life turned upside down.

Monkey Business Going on in Henrico County

The short version. A muslim community grows. Buys land to build mosque. Land is mystreously rezoned to residential. Longer version. This is what the community in Richmond Virginia has been facing. I wonder if this is the standard reaction from the stop muslims from growing local government playbook? We as a community faced a very similar situation that dragged on for a long while. President Bush Sucker Punches Saudi Arabia

I had to laugh when I read this. Not because I agree or disagree with it, but because of the context. President Bush gave a speech at an U.N. inter-faith event sponsored by his close buddies from Saudi Arabia, and promptly began condemning Saudi Arabia's outlawing of apostasy or people changing their religion. He said that it is a human right. I wonder if they saw this coming. I guess that there want be any other slow walks hand in hand into the sunset anytime soon.

I have to agree that it is a human right. If it were not then I would be more difficult to convert to Islam. What I have found in practice is that people generally only like it when you convert to their religion (the Qu'ran refers to this), but it is to Allah that we all answer for ourselves!

This Doll is Freaking Non-Muslims Out

This doll has made the news because it is believed to say that "Islam is the Light!". Check the video here and judge for yourself. In all honesty, if I had a daughter and I bought her a doll that said some religious message other than an Islamic one, I'd be more than a little upset. I doubt that it would make the news though.

Shariah Banking Scares and Intrigues the West

The benefits of Shariah compliant banking are being to appeal to the West. They had to be near bankruptcy to admit it. What they fear is that it came from Islam. The problem may actually be that if the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was correct when he revealed this, then the rest of his revelation may be correct also.
