Islam in Italian Public Schools

I believe that one of the signs of the end of time is that Rome will embrace Islam. I may be wrong ( If I am, please post the correct information so that we all may be properly informed), but this article sounds as though it could be the beginning.

Italian Schools Might Teach Islam
ROME, MARCH 21, 2006 (Zenit.org).- Cardinal Camillo Ruini, president of the Italian bishops' conference, acknowledged the possibility that Islam might be taught in this country's public schools. The cardinal made that point when he opened a session of a bishops' commission on Monday. After recalling that the Church has authority in "relations with the Italian state in regard to the teaching of Catholicism but not in regard to other religions," the cardinal noted that "the right to religious freedom is true for all and, in principle, the teaching of the Islamic religion does not seem impossible." "However, there must be some fundamental conditions, applicable to all teaching in Italian public schools: specifically, there must be no opposition to the contents of our Constitution, for example, in the matter of civil rights, beginning with religious liberty, the equality of man and woman, and marriage," stressed Cardinal Ruini. "To date, a representative entity of Islam has been lacking, empowered to establish an agreement in this regard with the Italian state," he said. "It is also necessary to ensure that the teaching of the Islamic religion does not give room in fact to a socially dangerous indoctrination."
